What is Monofacial Solar Panel?

Today let’s come into monofacial panel.

I.The definition of Monofacial solar panel
Ever since solar panels came into existence, they have undergone various transformations,The first type is monofacial solar panels. Monofacial solar panels (monfacial PV module)are solar panels with solar cells on one side. They absorb the sun’s energy from one photovoltaic side and convert it into electrical energy. It is constructed by frame, glass, EVA, solar cells, EVA, backsheet and junction box.

II.The classification of Monofacial solar panel
Monofacial solar panel has single glass and dual glass.

III.The features of monofacial solar panel
The features(advantages) of monofacial solar panel are simple structure, low manufacturing cost, easy installation, and relatively simple maintenance and cleaning. However, due to the fact that only one side can receive solar light, power generation is relatively low and efficiency is not as high as that of bifacial solar panel.Another benefit of monofacial solar panels is that they are lighter.

IV.The Application of Monofacial Solar Panel

In practical applications, monofacial solar panel are usually used in situations where there is not a high demand for power generation, such as home solar power generation systems, small solar street lights, etc. For situations that require higher power generation and efficiency, such as large solar power plants, industrial solar applications, etc., bifacial solar panel are usually used.
